About Me

I am an authentic African-American. I was born in the middle of nowhere Nigeria to my lovely American parents. I’ve spent over 75% of my life living in West Africa doing missions work, and most of my family still lives in Accra, Ghana. I currently live in Northern Virginia and work in Washington DC at the Department of State, but who knows where the future will find me 🙂 I spend most of my time hanging out with my adorable boyfriend Mike and our abusive cat Louise, who has no qualms about biting the hands that feed. Our favorite hobbies are eating, going to the movies and taking pictures of ourselves.

“The right word at the right time
is like a custom-made piece of jewelry.”

I love when I read something and it just jumps off the page and into my heart. It fits me, like custom-made jewelry. It might be wishful thinking, but it’s my prayer that in some small way, some of my words might fit you. Because through my frequent cross-cultural journeys, I’ve come to realize that under all our “toppings”, we’re not that different; we all long to be loved, to be heard, to be understood. So my promise is to share, as openly and honestly as possible, and I hope that as you listen with your heart you’ll hear mine.
